Thoughts on Article
I was very surprised at how much carpets are valued at Turkmenistan. I was especially surprised when I found out that the largest ever woven carpet was made in Turkmenistan and that there is an entire holiday centered around carpets. I never envisioned a country like Turkmenistan to value carpets this much. I am also surprised that Turkmenistan has not adopted Shariah Law like other primarily Islamic countries have. This is most likely because Turkmenistan still has a significant Christian population from when it was a Soviet state.

Carpets and other products allow the people of Turkmenistan to express the uniqueness of their country. By having a unique product, the people of Turkmenistan have a strong folk culture that leads to a strong sense of nationalism in the country. Islam has also influenced a majority of the country's culture, especially when it comes to food, drinks, and religious service. Islam and Christianity give followers a chance to be part of a unique group with its own traditions. The traditions of Turkmenistan allow it to be a unique country with a unique culture that can only be found in its hearth of Central Asia.
